Teach English in Vietnam: get placed in schools across the country
Have you dreamed of traveling with a purpose? Or finding a home away from home while immersing yourself in the culture?
Vietnam is fast becoming a top destination for Native English Teachers to either lead a classroom or become a Language Assistant in one. We offer 2 types of programs for Teachers wanting to either experience being part of a classroom for the first time, spend their holiday helping local children or who wants to lead a classroom long-term.
OUR PROGRAMS
- Short Term up to 90 days volunteer teaching English to young students either in the cities or rural settings. This program is designed for those who don’t have a year to commit to, haven’t taught English before or would rather just spend around 15 hours a week helping out as a language assistant. The rest of the time is up to you to spend as you like!
- This program does not require any teaching background or TEFL Certificate.
- Longer Term / +90 days The other program is for experienced Native English Teachers who will be the primary teacher in the class and will likely be working around 60 hours per month. This is therefore a paid position, paid around $1,200 USD at one of our partner schools across Vietnam. This program requires at least 8 months commitment, but up to 9 months, depending on the needs of the school. It does however follow the school year.
- Requirements for this program:
- Applicants must be from Australia, NZ, Canada, UK, South Africa or USA
- Hold a valid TEFL or ESL certificate
- Is nice to Have some sort of teaching or classroom experience, but not required.
WHAT'S INCLUDED?
Our partner schools come to us with what they need in terms of a Native English Teacher and we take into account your preferences and then match you with the school that is the best fit mutually.
- Schools you could be placed in vary in location from Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City, Danang and regional locations.
- Upon application, we will ask where you’d prefer to be located and try match you with a school in that area.
Volunteer Program: for the volunteer program, the postings will more likely be to schools and language centres in more regional locations, in smaller villages or just on the outskirts of the cities. These programs are essential for the local children in these regions, who are incredibly grateful to receive volunteers, as they are largely cut off from the privileges of the increased access to education available in the cities. This program allows for ample free time to explore and travel Vietnam. As well as being posted in a location that is authentically Vietnam and surrounded by incredible, largely untouched nature. The program will take care of your housing needs and transport during your stay to nearest big cities.
Teacher Program: this program requires a longer commitment of stay and up to full-time work hours. There is a monthly salary included and we can assist in helping you find accommodation. For this program, you will either lead or co-lead a classroom of English students. Therefore, some experience and a TEFL or ESL certificate is required. These postings are more likely to be with schools in the major Vietnamese cities.
